I like to think of it as three different sections, although Royal Caribbean might disagree. The first section is Chill Island and Oasis Lagoon, which is the huge pool. These spots go from the center of the island to the left as you look from the ship. It’s where the vast majority of free things to do around the island are located. First up is that if you’re visiting for the first time, you’re going to want to know a general layout of CocoCay.

A full-fledged waterpark with more than a dozen slides, wave pool, and more, there is an admission fee. Nearby is the Oasis Lagoon, which includes the free Splashaway Bay for kiddos and the large freshwater pool open to all guests. But on CocoCay, there’s a huge benefit — drink packages (alcoholic or otherwise) work while you’re enjoying your time at the beach. There are bars all around the island, so you can walk up to any of them and grab a drink just like you would on the ship. For years Royal Caribbean operated CocoCay in the Bahamas. The private island — exclusively for the cruise line’s ships — offered plenty to like.

This large waterpark has over a dozen waterslides, including the tallest slide in North America at 135 feet. However, if you are in the market, then you will want to know that these cabanas can come with some perks you may not realize. For example, when you opt for the $1,000 cabana at Thrill Waterpark, you get the space, but it also comes with six entrances to the waterpark. Considering that admission is $100 or more a day, that means you’re paying just a fraction for the actual cabana.

Investing $250 million, the area is now known as “Perfect Day at CocoCay” and offers the most wide-range of amenities of any cruise line island. As someone in their mid-twenties with no kids, it was nice to be surrounded by adults onboard while also being able to enjoy everything that CocoCay is known for. Now, those interested in visiting CocoCay have options, whether they're seeking a family-friendly vacation or a more adult-oriented and refined experience. Second, one lesser-known spot is a floating bar located in the water off South Beach. (Literally the bartender has to kayak into shore to go get ice.) I’ve found it can get pretty busy and loud.

The premium resort complex also offers as facilities and amenities a clubhouse, an infinity swimming pool, daybeds, beverage service, The Grille (complimentary restaurant). Among CocoCay's newly added amenities is the new swim-up bar located near Barefoot Beach (aka South Beach). The new bar is adults-only and was inaugurated in July 2016. It is freely floating in the ocean, meaning to get a drink the island's visitors have to swim to it.
Towels, freshwater showers, restrooms and beach access wheelchairs are all included as part of a Perfect Day at CocoCay. Right next to Coco Beach Club, South Beach is a gorgeous area for families and cruisers to relax and chill on the beach. It has a traditional beach sports zone, including volleyball courts and basketball.

Lockers are available to store your valuables while you ride. You must be at least 4 feet tall and between 75 and 275 pounds to ride.
At CocoCay, Royal Caribbean offers a variety of complimentary activities that ensure guests can enjoy their time on the island without additional expenses. For a more serene experience, exploring the island's coastline can lead to less crowded spots, offering a quiet retreat by the sea. Chill Island cabanas are on Chill Island's northern side, near the tours office.
