After starring in PBS's Little Women miniseries where she worked with director Vanessa Caswill, the first female director she'd collaborated with in her 80-year career, Lansbury was asked if the show would be her final act. The application process begins when an incarcerated woman sends a letter containing a brief bio and reasons why she is interested in Angela House to or to our mailing address. We respond by sending back an application form and more information about Angela House. Women who are currently incarcerated and looking for transitional housing may apply to Angela House. With an abundance of goodness, community groups and individuals volunteer to help us maintain our facility, run our office and provide activities for our residents.

Below are the items that we can accept.

Thank you for supporting Angela’s House right here on Long Island. The Home Store provides a free pick up service for your large donations. Due to the high cost of providing a free pick up service, we ask that you drop off donations that may fit in your car or SUV. Free pick-ups can only be provided to donations staged in a garage or driveway.

Smithtown Messenger: Smithtown’s “Angela’s House”

The first “Angela’s House” was named after Angela Policastro who died when she was fourteen months old. Her parents, Robert and Angela, began a campaign after her death to develop a home on Long Island for severely disabled children. The Policastros hoped to spare other families from their ordeal of searching out of state for a place that would take care of their child. The daunting task of home care seemed overwhelming, especially without an agency available to coordinate the services needed to support Angela at home.

Often, there are jail inreach programs, Chaplains or Case Managers who can tell her about our program and application process. If not, she can initiate the process by writing a letter containing a brief bio and reasons why she is interested in Angela House to or to our mailing address. We will respond by sending back an application form and more information about Angela House. The women of Angela House benefit from both monetary donations as well as in-kind donations of clothing, shoes and other goods. To donate, please send your name, address, phone number and photos to Eva at

Once funding was secured, with the help of Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg, Angela’s House worked in collaboration with IGHL, Independent Group Home Living, to build and operate this home. This collaborative effort became the foundation of an affiliation between two agencies. IGHL is recognized as a leader in providing services for people with developmental disabilities.

Angela succumbed to her frail state and passed away shortly after her first birthday. Mr Bowen also revealed his daughter let her brother Darren, 46, live at the property. Ms Rayner is being investigated by police and HMRC over whether she lived at her ex-council house in Vicarage Road, Stockport. In a previous statement, Ms Rayner said she was “completely confident” that she had followed the rules at all times but said she would resign if she was found to have committed a criminal offence. Neighbours of Ms Rayner have repeatedly rejected her claim that she lived at Vicarage Road and say she lived with her husband and their children “full-time from about 2009 or 2010”. A month later, he, his wife and their children moved into another property in Ashton under Lyne.

They also learned that there were no local specialized homes or facilities available that could care for her. She claimed it was her main residence when it sold in 2015, allowing her to avoid paying capital gains tax of up to £3,500. Tax experts have told The Telegraph that if Mr Rayner was liable to pay capital gains tax, the bill would depend on factors such as income, renovations and estate agent fees, but would likely only be about £500. Ms Rayner is facing scrutiny over whether she or her husband paid the right amount of capital gains tax when two properties they owned simultaneously during their marriage were sold.

WE SUPPORT

Contributions also support the development of new programs such as Angela’s House and a special respite/relief home for medically fragile children. Since the birth of his daughter, Bob Policastro has been a voice to address the problems and needs facing medically fragile children and their families. Bob has many special children in memory along with their families that have touched his heart. He pushed forward with advocacy and educational efforts to promote greater knowledge and understanding of medically frail children and their needs.

The question of where she was living is crucial to determining whether she owed any tax, and if she committed electoral fraud. Angela Rayner’s former husband made £134,000 after selling his former council house, previously unseen documents have revealed. Architect Ken Ungar, whose portfolio largely features high-end modern farmhouse-style residences, will design a home for the couple, Architectural Digest reported. The property, which is just across the street from Schwarzenegger’s mother, Maria Shriver, will also feature a three-car garage and a secondary unit near the pool.

The new house will include five bedrooms for up to house seven children, a recreational play area, special bathroom facilities, and a nursing station with vital medical equipment. State Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg (D-Long Beach) and Robert Policastro of Smithtown, father of the home’s namesake, broke the ground with theit ceremonial shovels on June 6. The Home Store also helps our environment by reducing the amount of material that goes into local landfills. Local builders, contractors, businesses and individuals are encouraged to donate new or previously owned re-usable materials, as well as inventory that is overstocked or discontinued. Our Home Store provides a green alternative and cost-effective means for disposal of items that would normally be thrown away.
